About Viz

In 2015, the Saint Louis Visionary Awards were relaunched by an independent committee of women to celebrate the numerous contributions and achievements of women who work in or support the arts in St. Louis. From established working arts professionals and arts educators to emerging artists and community impact artists, each year's honorees are truly "visionary".

BLACK LIVES MATTER

We condemn the history of systemic racism in our country, which affects every part of our world, including the arts.
We’ve seen the tremendous pain and loss experienced by Black communities, and mourn with them, in honor of the many Black Americans whose lives have been brutally and senselessly cut short.
We strive to counteract racism and bring together and uplift our community through our celebration of diverse women who have made outstanding contributions to the arts.
We commit to reflecting the rich diversity of our community through our honorees, board, audiences, and in all aspects of our activities.
We seek a just and inclusive future for our community and welcome your input as we work with others to build a strong and equitable arts ecosystem.
